A Curriculum For The 21st Century

The Global Curriculum is a new structure for high school. Rather than the "factory schools" designed in the early 1900s, or the Herbartian curriculum structure first proposed in the 1820s, the Global Curriculum changes both the actual content being taught and the way learning is delivered and reinforced.

Instead of a thematic focus on American history and some world history, the core structure is based on Global Studies 1 & 2. This is a chronological view, East and West, comparing the difference and the similarities between major societies along the timeline, as well as all their connections and inter-relations. Students study the Global Politics, History of Science and Technology, Worldviews and the Culture of each period together. This multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural "horizontal" structure supersedes the old "vertical" (and disconnected) Herbartian curriculum.
